Richmond, VA -- During the second day of the 2020 General Assembly Session, legislators made a historical switch with committee names demonstrating their solidarity for working Virginians.

The House of Delegates voted and changed the formerly named "Commerce and Labor Committee" to "Labor and Commerce Committee" -- putting labor before business, which is a huge signal on what could come from the legislature this session.

Previously this year, Virginia was ranked 51st for workers and number 1 for business, which shocked many Virginians. Perhaps this is a demonstration of the legislature standing in solidarity with working Virginians and taking the first step to elevating the Commonwealth to the number 1 spot for workers.
